Mid Summer Classic

Traditions at LCC are steadfast and reluctant to change.  The men's member guest is always held on the last weekend of July.  This typically is the toughest stretch of the summer to maintain turfgrass.  July is always the hottest and driest but that isn't the case this year. Mother nature has cooperated and course conditions were impeccable for all participants.  Thank you for all the kind comments regarding course conditions.  The real thanks needs to go to our dedicated and hardworking staff members.  If you see them on the course please stop and thank: Chris, Matt, Jeff, Pete and Jordan.  They are the true backbone of the golf course and they provide you with perfect playing conditions.

I spent some extra time on the greens leading up to the men's member guest event as evident by the increased ball roll.  We lightly topdressed the greens and then brushed the sand into the canopy.  This is followed by rolling and double mowing on a daily basis leading up to the tournament.  Now mix in some great weather and the end result is some slick greens.

July is coming to a close and and the summer is going by fast!  I hope everyone takes advantage of the great golf course conditions and hope to see you out in the fairways!
