Rinse and Repeat
Its Monday morning and we received yet another 1.3 additional rain over the course of the weekend.
The course remains open for the those brave souls that wish to go out and swing a club. Presently it is 40 degrees and there is standing water in the fairways, rough, and in the bunkers. The river has backed up into the swale on the 2/3 hole. We are unable to work on the course today and instead we are busy servicing equipment.
I attended a golf committee meeting last friday and gave a update on why carts are still not allowed. If you would like a more detailed explanation please reach out to me, Scott, or the mens, womens golf chair.
I did mention at the meeting that the course had finally dried down and firmed up considerably over the course of the week. In a nutshell we were getting close to letting carts go out. I also mentioned that if and when the course dries out to a "marginal" level i will rope off/stake off wet areas. The forecast this week does not look favorable to dry down. However, there is a chance that perhaps by sunday it might be "marginal".
Last week we were able to knock down all the rough and mowed most of the fairways albeit some were mowed at an one inch. We are starting off the week behind the 8 ball but we will slowly dig our way out. I am optimistic by the holiday weekend we will be in a normal maintenance mode.
