First for everything

Thunderstorms in February???  I have lived most of my life in Litchfield and I cant recall a storm of that magnitude in February.  It created quite a mess on the golf course.  The course flooded and in its aftermath deposited sticks, leaves and sand on the fairways.

Its been a few years since we experienced this type of winter flooding.  Its going to be a busy spring.

The high winds uprooted some trees and knocked down many others.  We were very fortunate this spruce tree didn't land on our irrigation control tower.

The staff will be returning soon and are eager to start the clean up process.  The good news is the frost line isn't very deep and should disappear sooner than expected. This will allow us to use our heavy equipment without worrying about damaging the turfgrass.  Weather permitting we should have the course cleaned up at the end of March.

Just a quick report this time. Ill update in a few weeks with our clean up progress and projected opening.  Think spring!
