Road Trip

We took our annual fall staff outing to Wyantenuck Golf Club courtesy of our outgoing green chair. Thank you once again! We had a perfect day with weather to match and it was a great time!
I cant thank Fran Devlin enough for all the hard work she has put into Litchfield Country Club the last three years.  A class act!

We just experienced our first hard frost of the season.  That is it for the growing season!  Please do not walk on the golf course when frost is present.  It will kill the grass!

We have mowed down all our native areas and we are busy keeping up with the never ending leaf duty.  The golf course accessories will be stored for the winter this coming week.  The greens will receive a light topdressing next week.  This helps protect the crown of the plant and provides some insulation heading into the winter. The greens will remain open until weather dictates otherwise and temporary pins will be placed in front of the greens for those wishing to brave the elements.

Its hard to believe its Halloween and that the season is almost over.  As always it went by too fast but it was certainly a season to remember.

Ill update the maintenance blog on an infrequent basis over the next few months.  I plan on working on the Audubon certification over this winter and will give everyone an update when progress is noted.  I hope everyone has a great offseason and im looking forward to next year!
