Course Update
Greens were double vertical mowed and aerated 8 days ago with 5/8 diameter tines. This labor intensive process is a necessary evil for healthy greens. This year we used our Toro Procore fairway aerator on the greens and we are fortunate that Chris Caprari is a very experienced and careful operator. This procedure went very smoothly and we did all 10 greens in two days. A quick release fertilizer was applied to help speed recovery and pictured below is the first green taken this morning.
We have finished up all of our spring projects. Eliminating Japanese knotweed behind the 7th and third green will be an arduous process but dedication and perserveance is the key. Removing invasive species on the golf course and introducing native species is all apart of the Audubon process.
I have submitted our Water Conservation paperwork to Audubon for certification. I am hopeful to hear back soon that we are certified for this section.
The golf course is in great shape! Hope to see you in the fairways!
