Its Official!

The growing season has officially ended! We have had 4-5 hard frosts in the last week. Please look for the frost delay sign on the first tee.  Typically the frost will burn off by 930 or 10am.

The maintenance staff will be finished for the season a week from this Friday. We will be storing the remaining golf course accessories over the next week. Chris and I will continue to move pins and try to keep the greens free of leaves up until Thanksgiving.

The greens mower height of cut has been slightly raised.   Increasing the photosynthetic area will give the plant a greater opportunity to capture carbon skeletons.  These carbon skeletons are converted into carbohydrates and stored for the winter.  This stored energy is needed to promote a healthier plant going into dormancy.  I took a few putts on the greens yesterday and they are still rolling well!

These last two weeks we will focus our efforts on tree work, leaf clean up and removing invasive plants(oriental bittersweet, primrose).

Glad to see so many members taking advantage of the great weather we had this October.  It will be a fall season to remember.
