Fresh Start

The staff and I are back on the property and looking forward to a brand new season.  The golf course weathered the winter well and there is no disease or winter damage present on any playing surfaces.  However, it did flood over the winter and deposited leaves, sticks, and some sand on some of the fairways.  Regretfully it also washed away the waste area on the 5th hole.

The good news is that greens, tees and fairways are in great shape for this time of year.

Overall the amount of course clean up is a moderate amount. We have started our spring clean up and it will take a few weeks to completely clean up the property. We will need some ample sunshine and wind to dry and firm up the soils before we can open up for walkers.

The osprey is back for his annual spring visit.  He has arrived a bit sooner than usual which is good sign that spring is here!  The bluebirds  have been visiting the nest boxes which is another encouraging sign that spring is upon us.

Please check back next week about updated conditions and possible outlook of when we might open. Looking forward to the new season and seeing everyone out on the fairways!
