Progress Report

The LCC maintenance team is making headway and we hope to open later this coming week.  We have cleared all the downed trees and continue to pick up winter debris. Last week the LHS golf team volunteered to help clean up the course.  They spent an afternoon raking leaves, sticks and fixed bunker washouts.  They were a tremendous help!

We have swept up the sand on the 7th & 8th fairways.  The off color areas will green up and grow in with some help from mother nature.

I expect to start mowing tees, approaches, and fairways this week. Typically we start mowing these playing surfaces in the middle of April.  We are two weeks ahead of a "normal" spring.  The course is greening up fast now.

We are mowing and rolling greens but they are still slow and bumpy.  It will be sometime before they are smooth so keep this in mind when you come out to play.  Course conditions will be rough but playable and will improve over the coming weeks.

The bridge on 9 is closed to cart traffic due to safety reasons.  It will be open for pedestrian use only.  Members will need to use the service bridge to cross the river.  Once we open please contact AJ to see if carts are permissible.  Cart use will be a day to day decision based on soil conditions.

In addition to cleaning the course we are busy preparing the equipment for the coming season.  We are changing oil and hydraulic fluids, greasing equipment and attending to all other preventative maintenance.  The benches, ballwashers, and tee blocks will be placed on the course once we are done refurbishing them.  I hope to have them out on the course a few weeks from now.
