Update/Practice Tee
Its been awhile since I have updated this blog or published a newsletter in our "Crier" Its been a very busy stretch for the golf maintenance team as we are in full summer swing. Men's member guest is currently underway and next week is the women's member guest and Northwest Senior outing.
The golf course is in great shape and I am pleased with the condition of all playing surfaces. The greens were topdressed and groomed last week in preparation for our premier events. I will mow and roll every day to gain some greater ball roll.
Areas around greens and tees have been roped off or staked off to keep carts away from these areas. Please respect these areas and help keep our course in great shape. Redirecting cart traffic from around the greens will give you a better lie if you miss the green and a easier up and down for par!
The practice tee needs some help! Members should use the divot mix provided and fill your divots. There really isn't much grass left and you will soon be hitting off dirt. The LCC maintenance team can only do so much to provide you with great playing conditions.
Pictured below is the correct divot pattern while practicing. This pictured would be perfect if divot mix was put down.
Pictured below is the incorrect divot pattern. Seed and sand will not fill back in quickly.
I appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Golf course etiquette is part and parcel of the game.
One of the great aspects of this job is that you never know what will happen on any given day. While working on a early Saturday morning we witnessed a hot air balloon float over the course.
We have our second clutch of bluebirds. Although difficult to see they are about 8 days old in this picture.
Ill try and update the blog again soon. Glad to see so many members out enjoying the course. See you in the fairways!
