Course update
Its that time of the year when cool season turfgrass growth has its annual surge. We are unable to consistently maintain the rough at acceptable levels. We mow the rough and within two days it all needs to be mowed again. Regretfully we are unable to mow all the rough twice a week. This growth surge will all subside in about two weeks and it will play much better.
It has been two weeks since we aerated greens and they are healing over fast. We have lowered the height of cut on the greensmower and we will also start rolling the greens on a regular basis now. This should translate to better ball roll on the putting greens.
The elm tree was removed last week and it has really opened up a nice view. Now that the tree is gone it opens up the possibility of building a new back tee for the 2nd hole.
All our spring projects are completed and we will focus on routine maintenance as well as detail work that has been left unattended the past month. Divot mix is available for carts and the divot boxes will be on the tees tomorrow. Please use it frequently and encourage your playing partners to do the same.
